Expat DF died in Spain - what happens to pension?

DF died a week ago in Spain, DM informed DWP (took 2 hours and 5 phone numbers). She's received a payment today which is an odd amount - about £300 so about half I think. But off cycle about 2 weeks early.

It all sounds right to me, but I'm completely uneducated in these things and she's worrying.

Any helpful words of advice?

It's probably just a part payment up until date of death. Your mum's state pension should be recalculated based on his now. Sorry for your loss.

@Babyroobs Thank you! I'll let her know

@Babyroobs just thought - do you know how the recaluation works?

My dad died in January, my mums
Ensign was recalculated and went from 84 to about 145 a week. It did take about five weeks to be recalculated though.
