Just curious, how much are you ladies spending on maternity clothes? I've spent about £380 - including a winter coat.

A fair amount and I didn’t want to do it but got quite depressed in the in-between stage and just had to be comfy. I was having melt downs all the time and it wasn’t worth it. I did get a bundle of tops on eBay for about £10 and they have served me well! I have bought two pairs of work trousers (black maternity jegging style) and 2 pairs of jogging style (but look relatively smart). A 2 pack of leggings and two pairs of jeans (which I hate pretty much). A 2 pack of H&M tops I wear all the time and 2 maternity jumpers. Oh and 3 nursing vests which I’m using for layering now it’s cold and will hopefully come in handy for breastfeeding.

Basically a LOT

I have mostly been wearing long cardigans I’ve always had with maternity tops and scarfs. I feel like jumpers make me look massive and frumpy and prefer a defined bump with maternity tops.

I rented my Maternity coat for £40 and will return next Spring (it’s worth £120 and is lovely).

I’ve requested maternity button up PJs for my birthday from my partner (birthday next month and due date a month and a half later but imagine I’ll spend the early days in these!). And my partner also just bought me 2 long sleeve maternity tops and a new cardigan arriving this week as i ripped one of my faithful ebay mat tops in my coat this week 😩

About £50 from Vinted or eBay.

Had 5 tops, 3 bottoms and a dress specifically maternity. Jumpers and coats were just my existing oversized ones, and wore shirts open or tied over a vest.

I was due in December and just used an oversized swing coat. I found I was too hot for a proper big coat.

I kept some of the stuff for possible future pregnancies but have made £40 selling some of it on on Vinted.

My friend donated me hers, and I donated it all to someone else. Only one child.

I did spend about £30 on some trousers for work, but that's about it.

@sociallydistained totally relate - I also much prefer to have tighter fitted clothing that really shows off the bump. With just baggy jumpers I only look shapeless and fat. I think you can look really fantastic in well fitted maternity wear!

Here's the list of what I've got so far:

MATERNITY:
1 x H&M jeans
2 x H&M long sleeve cotton tops
2 x New Look long sleeve cotton tops
1 x H&M leggings
1 x Seraphine thermal leggings
1 x Seraphine winter coat (baby carrier)
1 x M&S zip front hoodie thing
1 x Dorothy Perkins Loungepants
1 x H&M dungarees
1 x La Redoute dungarees
1 x La Redoute knit cotton jumper
1 x Vertbaudet padded short jacket (baby carrier)

NURSING:
1 x H&M black long sleeve cotton top
3 x New Look crossover tee shirts
1 x La Redoute cotton nightdress
(This list will get longer as I add nursing bras when the time comes.)

And I've just ordered some more stuff too which might be added to the list if I like it/it fits etc...😇

I love being pregnant - it's just marvellous!

Probably about £400 but I was pregnant both times at the same time of year so the clothes did both times. I found Seraphine expensive but well worth it (for a couple of weddings/balls) and the dresses worked well in the feeding days too. Jo Jo was really good too

Hortonhearsadoctorwho · 09/11/2021 19:50

Due in February.
Spent £10 on a couple of second hand maternity jeans and wear them with usual t shirt, jumper and coat.

Nsky · 09/11/2021 19:58

Can’t remember, could only wear dresses, about 5, sons born March and december

IrishMamaMia · 09/11/2021 19:59

I spent about £400-500 total over two pregnancies in two different seasons. I bought a winter coat attended some weddings and generally dress smartly for work. I bought some bits from maternity ranges but also cheap bits from primark that fit my bump.
I thought I did quite well as didn't get maternity jeans or work out trousers and my biggest splurge was a Clary and Peg dress in the sales. I think I would have spent more if maternity ranges were more exciting. I did feel like I really got my value per wear put of every single item.

@IrishMamaMia oh I've never heard of Clary & Peg, their clothes look interesting!
