Child Benefit for EU Citizens

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering of any EU citizens in the UK (or other knowledgeable people) have come across this and have any information or advice for me:

I'm an EU citizen but have settled status in the UK. My DH is an Irish citizen (we are in Northern Ireland, he's entitled to British citizenship as well). We had our DB in February this year. I sent of the Child Benefit claim form at the end of March and got my DB's birth certificate back 10 days after, meaning they obviously received my claim and did something with it. I never heard anything back after that and I got fed up waiting around and sent them an email on 13/09, to which I finally got a reply on 28/10 saying they posted me a letter requesting additional information. I got that today and now I'm supposed to fill in a form called UK Child Benefit for people coming from abroad. For one thing, I find the whole form very, very confusing as so many things don't actually apply to me (us) and none of the answers really works but there's nowhere to add notes. Also, do you really have to fill that form in if you have settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme? I thought that automatically gave you the right to reside and therefore made you eligible for Child Benefit?

I will phone HMRC and/or Citizens Advice on Monday, but just wanted to see if anyone had personal experience with this? Has anyone had to fill that form in or did any other EU citizen with settled status just get Child Benefit without this form?

Thanks for reading, hope it makes sense. I'm just very confused at the moment and don't really know who to ask.

I know it's not answering your question, but do you know if it would make a difference if you did it in your DH name? My DH is an EU citizen and it's never been an issue, but the claim was done in my name. But my DC's are much older. We're in England. Sorry not to be more help.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was thinking that we should have just done that. I'm not sure if I can change it now seeing as I have applied in my name already, but I'll ask that question too whenever I get someone on the phone!
