My 18 year old dc has left school but has not gone to University & is not capable of working due to MH condition. They have only ever worked briefy in p/time job while at school. They are living wth us but obviously have no income & we have to pay for everything including their prescriptions. Are we/dc able to claim any benefits & if so how. Many thanks!

He can apply for universal credit

He could apply for PIP

Universal credit. He would need to hand in sick notes and wait to be assessed for work capability.
Maybe PIP if the condition is severe enough to impact on his daily living and/ or mobility.
