Does anyone think there is a financial crash on the way similar to 2008? Houses prices are so high and I wonder if they will keep going up any more.

I think they will level off with cost of living increasing and interest rates starting to increase. I don't see any evidence of an inevitable crash, but I do think it'll slow down and level off after a crazy year.

I don’t think there will be a housing crash. The US stock market on the other hand is eye wateringly over inflated. That fucker is gonna blow!!!!

History will repeat it self. Poor people will pay higher NI and taxes, banks will be given relief so they can reward bonus for bad behaviour in the name of attracting more investment!
Only poor will suffer and rich will become richer.

I really hope not OP, as it will cause devastation, but I have to agree, it’s unsustainable at present levels.

I think a lot depends on what happens with evergrande in China. The potential ripple effects are massive.

Adha · 23/10/2021 22:45

China is trying to contain evergrande impact on other developers. It is a massive developer and collapse will definitely be a big problem. However they are also trying to tax home owners to recoup the money under the flag of communism and equal distribution of wealth.
