Monitoring Electric and Gas usage

Without a smart meter

it might be a good idea to monitor your meters weekly and keep check on how much energy you're using.

If you can upload your meter reading then do so as it will also give you the cost, which means you can keep track of your credit or debit.

utility firms like us to be very woolly about how much we use - £130 for a 2 bed and £150 for a 3 bed per month - knowing how much electric and gas you actually use is very useful.

Prices will increase and doing this - without a smart meter - will help keep a check on usage without any nasty surprises in the spring.

set an alarm on your phone for a random weekday evening to take a reading, photograph it and keep until the following week.
