Can anyone tell me if I'm entitled to free school meals.

Single parent. Work 23 hours a week. Earn approx £11,000. Receive ctc and wtc.

I can't get a clear answer on line

Thanks

I think you don't as you get working tax credit

Yes, if you receive CTC you would be eligible. If you go to your council website then you should be able to apply online

Sorry have assumed that as a single parent you don't have any other adults living in the house. You do need to have a total household income of less that £16125 to be eligible.

But as she gets Working Tax Credit too she isn't eligible for free school meals

Can my child get free school meals if I get Working Tax Credits?

Unfortunately, if you receive Working Tax Credits your child won’t qualify for free school meals. However, if you are receiving Working Tax Credit run-on (the payment you receive for a further four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit) your child will usually be entitled.
