As we're a few days into October thought I'd set up a new thread ( but couldn't think of a creative title!)

Hope everyone had a good September and hopefully lots of earning to be had this month. Welcome to any newcomers.. I've (hopefully) copied the usual links over from the last thread but if you have any questions ask away, there's usually someone who can help Smile

It saves them money not having to offer any NM2 shifts, & less work for the shift managers who have to set them up, check roll call etc.
I assume for bespoke you have to be fast as well as accurate with no mistakes recorded against you. As they pay £10 for those they must pick people fast enough to earn more than that. I don't expect to ever get added, not fast enough & still select unsure sometimes rather than risk being pulled up for a mistake. I suppose it gives you guaranteed work, (if you can book any before they all go) but someone that is that fast would earn more even without a surge or being on a NM2 shift, when the content is high enough.
Does anyone else remember in the training it said that some people are fast enough to earn £20 an hour! I find that very hard to believe.

ivykaty44 · 11/10/2021 21:30

does anyone do any other type of extra work, other than internet based, to make extra money? just wondering if this thread is solely for internet based work ?

anyone eBay or Etsy for example with a passive income?

Snowballs1 · 11/10/2021 21:43

I sell on ebay but wouldn't describe it as passive! It's quite time consuming to do listings & packaging.

Snowballs1 · 11/10/2021 22:12

@ivykaty44 Ebay doesn't tend to get discussed on these threads, probably becasue there is an ebay section on MN, as well as Facebook groups, & boards ebay itself.

Snowballs1 · 11/10/2021 22:16

*'boards on ebay itself' I meant to say. Didn't realise until looking that they are quite hidden away nowdays, they will be under 'community'.

curdsandwhey · 11/10/2021 22:32

I've received an update email about Appen SrPr*t. They've told us exactly how many people have taken part and collected data so far, and how many bits have been collected. It's not very many in comparison to how many are still left needing to be collected. I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not.

I filled in two surveys telling them why I wasn't taking part, but they clearly haven't listened to any feedback as I had a look at the app and it's still the same as before. It's a shame as I would've quite liked to have taken part in some of it, but not in the state that it's currently in.

Here to give a tentative little wave!

I’ve completely fallen off these threads the last year, works been manic (workload of 3 people has pretty much killed me off with no annual leave…) I gave up potato this year, I physically couldn’t dedicate the time to do it. We’ve been posted to another city again, and I’ve side stepped into what hopefully seems somewhere well staffed so I can jump back on the £10 a day wagon Smile so pleased to see these threads are still going!

Frenchdoors1 · 12/10/2021 09:18

Hey @Otterses nice to see you back!

YonderTweek · 12/10/2021 09:37

Hello @Otterses! Smile

Poppylife · 12/10/2021 11:21

Hi, I have been reading these threads for a while now and started earning a little online so thanks for all the posts. I have just been accepted on to Cres on App.
However I am registered on UHRS via Clickworker so can I work on UHRS with App** too?

Thank you for any help you can give

Februarycat · 12/10/2021 12:47

I passed the Potato quiz in May 2020 but not heard anything since

MerylSqueak · 12/10/2021 13:08

Smile Hello @Otterses!

I know!! £20 an hour?!? In what world? Maybe 5 years ago.

Lots of people are complaining on Slack right now about how slow it is, that they’re making below minimum wage and they’re really stressed because of it.

I know people shouldn’t RELY on Crisp as it’s not a full time job, but it’s still really awful for the people who’ve been around a long time.

WizardOfAus · 12/10/2021 16:13

Hello @Otterses!! Great to see you back.

YonderTweek · 12/10/2021 18:27

Ooh I've just been added to SC and I'm a bit concerned as I have the fancy hat project as well. I wonder if it's possible to both, but if both require 20 hours a week then I may be a bit frazzled... Just need to work out which one is easier to do and lasts longer I suppose!

AnotherOne4 · 12/10/2021 18:50

@YonderTweek do you actually have any work in SC though? I got added earlier, and there is no work for me Sad

Bit annoyed I spent ages yesterday working a UHRS job. I did 320, and all I got paid was $1.28 lol.

AnotherOne4 · 12/10/2021 18:52

I got a bit of FOMO and went looking for the fancy hat project lol. I don't have that one Sad

YonderTweek · 12/10/2021 21:19

@AnotherOne4 I haven't tried actually. I'm on SRT at the moment and I tried to click on the SC link but I got an error message, so I'm guessing I would have to log out and log back in with different log ins maybe? I might try it tomorrow because I'm catching up on Fancy Hat. Such a shame you don't have it but maybe SC kicks off soon and you'll be busy with that. Fingers crossed! Smile

8dpwoah · 12/10/2021 21:27

I've not heard anything about Fancy Hat since I did the initial 'yes please' so maybe it's well-covered for now.

I've actually had the better FB survey this week for the first time in a few, thought that might have gone by the wayside for me!

PurBal · 13/10/2021 08:52

How do people manage their taxes? I’m interested in doing a bit for pin money but not sure about how to go about declaring it.

TheBakedPototo · 13/10/2021 09:07

@PurBal

I’m hoping this link works!

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/blog/got-a-side-hustle-you-might-not-need-to-pay-tax/amp

So essentially anything less than £1000 a year you don’t technically need to declare or pay tax on. Most websites like potato, appen, even surveys like profilic make it quite easy to keep track of extra income and record Smile

This doesn’t include matched betting or anything classed as ‘winnings’.

PurBal · 13/10/2021 10:18

@TheBakedPototo thank you!

Adelais · 13/10/2021 10:19

I had a really good month on Crisp last month and now it’s back to being dead again… so annoying.

Ive got nothing on Appen atm and the weekly Ne***en survey seems to have gone as not had an email for a few weeks.

I decided to check the UserTesting app which I’ve not bothered to do for ages and managed 3 surveys in an hour so that was an easy $30 at least.

YonderTweek · 13/10/2021 10:47

OK so the fancy hat job seems to have ended and I can't log into SC. I was flying high for about five days and now I have nothing to do. Grin I guess I could write a few A**r reviews... I should be receiving my fancy Swatch today and I'm a little bit excited about it!

lilmishap · 13/10/2021 10:59

I managed £9 on pots yesterday, todays been even slower it's knocked me right off my target Sad
