ETFs?

Does anyone who knows / routinely trades in ETFs mind helping me understand how to assess them, please, or point me to a good resource?

I have this year's ISA allowance in this, via Interactive Investor, effectively because of recommendations from friends who have held it a long time. That's usually not the way I make my investment/spending decisions, and I'd like to be in a better position to assess paticular ETFs for suitability. I have another £15k or so to invest immediately.

Where do I start?

Have you already used up your ISA allowance for this tax year? If not, then I would look at what ETFs you can buy from within your ISA.

I have, so was looking at buying ETFs outside of the ISA (again, if that's a bad idea I'm happy to hear it). In short DH and I hold money in property (as landlords, not in funds), in a large quantity of shares of the tech company DH works in as part of his remuneration, in the fund mentioned in my OP, and I've now had an inheritance that I'd also like to invest but don't have a clue where to put. I don't tend to buy things speculatively and would love some idea of how others decide where to invest.

You will need to learn about all the taxes. Personally I don't do investing outside of a tax wrapper so can't guide any guidance.
