Is this a lot for broadband?

I’m with talk talk and I pay £45 a month for my phone and broadband, I never use to phone, does this sound like a lot? I’ve heard that it is, it’s unlimited and I don’t want to run out of internet but am I paying over the top? How much do others pay for unlimited broadband ?

Wow Really! Is it unlimited? No I never call anyone I only use my mobile, the only person that calls me on it is my dad. But that’s just him calling me.

I'm with internetty and pay £20 a month for just broadband, no phone.
I don't know of internetty are national tbh, might be a local type thing.

Definitely call talktalk and enquire why youre paying so much especially if you're not making outgoing calls off the house phone

It depends on the speed of the service as much as whether it's limited as well as what is available in your area.

I pay £27.50 for 100mb speed via Virgin Media, but we don't have much choice in this area (Cornwall).

We've been with them for about 8yrs but always renegotiate at the end of the contract and they've always been better than any competitors. No issues with speed or reliability here either.

It does eem high, unless you're in an odd location or you're paying for super duper fast fibre or a Pro contract. Definitely figure put what speed you're paying for, the use a comparison site like Uswitch to see what's available in your location.

And remember to use topcashback or similar if you DO change.

I with EE I pay 22.50 a month for 200mps and unlimited, that includes phone line and also, because I have a EE mobile contract they put a extra 20gig on my mobile phone every month too.

We pay about £28 pm for fast fibre with Virgin. We need the landline because our mobile signal is very poor, but we don't make many paid calls on it. I don't think it is currently possible to save money by ditching a landline, because the internet only providers are actually more expensive.

Look on Moneysavingexpert, you can significantly reduce the cost by switching round the deals. We've been with Virgin for a few years now. Each time we get to the end of the 18 month discounted contract, I phone them and ask for a discount to stay and it's always worked so far. Im happy to pay a few quid extra a month to avoid having to switch but more than that and I will move but not needed to the last 2 times.

I have unlimited super fast fibre (as fast as you can get in our rural village, up to about 68mbps I think) with a land-line that I only use for incoming calls.
£22 a month.

That is good! Last time I did a comparison site I didn't see any that cheap. May be because of area though.

I pay 22.95 with talk talk but in my area I can only get 36mbps max. Which sounds terrible but our Internet is fab and I've never had issues. However we are an adult and child household, but use the Internet for most things including streaming and gaming. My parents were on your package and have now moved to their new offering of I think 150mbps and are paying 29.99 a month. So yes you are paying too much.

NowTV £18 for broadband and unlimited calls. I use Martin Lewis' site every year when my contract is up to get a good deal.

I pay £20 for the phone line (no calls, but never use it anyway) and £3 for the BB, unlimited, top of their offering. Plusnet.

I paid £35 with Plusnet & thought that was a lot, go on Moneysavingexpert.com & look at what the best deals are, I know Three do a 5G broadband system for up to 10 devices unlimited for less than £25

We pay £19.50 for vodaphone.

It's the same speed as yours OP as we are rural.

I checked on a comparison site, found a cheaper deal then phoned vodaphone to cancel current contract but they ended up undercutting them cheapest deal I found.
