Child benefit question

My partner and his son moved in a few months ago. I informed Child Benefit about this as I was of the understanding that we both wouldn't be able to claim the full amount for our children. My child is the youngest so I was expecting to receive a lesser amount.

It's been a few months since I contacted them but I have still been receiving my usual amount. Do I need to chase them up as I don't want to get a stupid bill off them for all the months my partner has been here.

Has he got a current claim in for his child? Do you need to do a joint claim instead?

Yes he has a current claim for his child. When I contacted CB I could only send a message to them. Do I need to get back in touch and ask to make a joint claim?

I would, as you say you don't want to rack up any arrears.
