Issue with house purchase

Hi

Buying a house and the report has stated within 10 years the roof needs work at a cost of £10k

Would it be fair to offer a reduction in our offer or not as the work is not immediate?

No, I don't think so, many things would need replacing / maintaining on a house in 10 years. The roof works now, that is what you are paying for.

No, you could go on like this forever. The kitchen, boiler and bathroom may need replacing in ten years too, that’s life.
