Why is my tax code BR?

Recently started a new job, my tax code is BR? After a quick read online it says you're not entitled to any personal allowance.

Can anyone shed any light on why this might be? It's my only job not a 2nd job.

BR is a code for emergency code. Did you give your new employer the P45 issued by your previous employer? Without that, showing your correct tax code, a new employer has to use an emergency code. When it’s sorted out you will receive any overpaid tax.

Did you fill in a P46 starter form? If so did you tick the option saying you have another job or pension income?

Didn't fill in a p46 and didn't hand in my p45 that I lost when we moved

Thanks, seems it's just an emergency code and will be rectified soon.
