Experian score

We are hopefully buying our first home this year, so I’ve logged in to Experian and it says my score is 999. I have the free version. Though my credit is good, I find it hard to believe it’s actually 999. Seems quite generic! Anyone else noticed this? It looks like a generic score...

TransUnion shows 652/700.

Your score means nothing. Its a gimmick that the credit agencies use to lure you in.

All credit providers will do their own internal scoring based on the information on your credit file (your credit history). That is the bit you need to go through with a fine tooth comb on all 3 agencies (Experian, Equivfax and Transunion). Check through your credit accounts, address history etc. Make sure there are no defaults, missed payments or anything similar that you were not aware of and make sure no mistakes. That will set you up best for your mortgage application and there should be no surprises.
