If you had bad credit/missed payments/defaults, did you get a mortgage?

Our mortgage application went in last week via a broker, my credit history is excellent, my husband has a default from 2016 that he settled last year.
Any success stories ?

The older it is the less it matters.

Does he just have the default from then and no ccj?

You’ll get a mortgage no problem!

I had a terrible credit rating - 11 defaults from 2016.

I have a £62,500 deposit now, I've rebuilt my score as best I can but the defaults haven't dropped off.

I got my agreement in principle last week, it's a 2.9% interest rate though.

It can be done. I had to go through a broker though and paid £600 for his effort.

No CCJ, just a default due to not paying it. Broker feels we will be fine but the worry just takes over and I don't want to loose the house
We only have 10% deposit

You will be fine.

If you go on money saving expert there are loads of stories on there. Some even have multiple ccjs and get mortgages.

@NoGoodAtMakingDecisions well done! They’ll be off within a year.

@NoGoodAtMakingDecisions not a bad interest rate really, I'd take that!

Well done, hope everything goes well for you
