Ds will be 7 very soon, thinking of starting to give him pocket money, each week (no doubt his 5 yr old brother will have some too ! )

How much ? Do you get them to do some little jobs around the house for it ?

Ds has just started getting a pound a week (he'll be 6 in January) .. no specific chores, he has to be nice to his sister, keep his room in reasonable order and generally toe the line (not bad for a quid )

He's saving up for the transformers DVD (He's put a poster of it above his bed as a reminder)

Today I have bought two money tins that can only be opened by tin opener !- stocking fillers.

Keeping bedroom tidy etc sounds reasonable enough
