Tax credits red line

Hi everyone,

I have had a renewal pack through with a red line on it asking me to confirm all my details I haven't had this before. Do I need to be worried?

Isn't the red line one when you have to notify them of changes? Is your income any different from last year and what they based your award on?
I dont think you need to worry. You just need to update them to renew

No you don't need to worry. This is the time of year everyone has to renew.
I'm sure I had the red line one a few years ago when I was on income support and you just tell them if anything has changed. If things are the same, then you don't need to do anything.

I've just checked. The red line means that you actually have to renew. The black line ones automatically renew unless you need to make changes.

I dont remember the colour of lines on mine but I always had to renew and change income regardless due to my pension contributions.

But I really wouldn't worry

Hi everyone, thank you yes I have changed jobs, address etc, just my daughter finishes full time education next month so I only have a couple more months of claiming and I am a worry pot :(

Please be careful with this as years ago my parents got overpaid. Same situation my sister left education in the July and they stopped claiming but as tax credits are calculated over the year they got hit with a massive overpayment

I had this a couple of years ago and it's just that you have to renew, it's not automatic
