I spent 2 nights in London for a conference at the begining of the month.
I booked 2 room for 2 nights at the Hotel Russell with London Nights.com.
I was told the evening before I arrived that the Russell was full for the 1st night and I would be found alternative accomadation at their expense.
Wasn't very happy, London Nights advised me to go to the Russell and see what they were going to do about it.
They said they were going to put us up at the Barbican for the first night. We left our cases there and went to our nearby conference.
On our return they said we weren't going to the Barbican but were staying at the Guoman Tower Hotel (bit of a trek). I asked them to write this down but was told it was not required.
We arived there to be told it was only one room, I said that was unacceptable as I had booked 2 and were given another. We were just supposed to hand in our keys in the morning as the original hotel were picking up the bill. When we tried to do this we were told there was a problem as the original hotel were only funding one room. I stood my guns and we left at no time did I hand over my credit card.
We arrived back at the original hotel where I let forth my displeasure! The duty manager said that he had told me it was only one room and I said that I had told him I was deaf and had asked him to write it down.
We checked out the following morning having been billed just for the second night.
I opened my credit card bill this morning to find a £30 debit from the original hotel, I've no idea what for and a debit for £199.75 from the second hotel which was supposed to have been paid by the first! I don't know how on earth they got my credit card details?
Everyone's closed as it's Sunday and I'm fuming
Don't know where to start - any advice?
