I've just quickly started a new thread as the other one was finishing

I managed 2.5 hours tonight on SD which I am ok with as I was out earlier and then had to do dinner, kids, etc so was glad to get anything done. Not sure I'll manage 20 hours this week, but will try for 5 hours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So glad it's back!

@LoLo2020 and @Catatemyhomework well done for getting the hours in yesterday. Especially as it started so late in the day. I managed 5, and am up early now to squeeze the extra hour in to make it six.
Getting to 20 hours in 3 and a half days is gonna be a pig lol

Morning all! Going to try and embark on 6 hours today on SD. Have to get it done by evening as then have to try and do a couple of hours on LB. Shouldn't complain really. The money will be fabaroony!

Could anyone help me re Appen pls?
I have done stuff on the Connect - but have received a couple of invites to do some tasks on Annotate - but whenever I sign in there, I find nothing. I have done the registration and added my payment details etc. I don't understand

I've had no worthwhile projects from Appen in a long while.

Main focus has been Potato and I'm barely doing a few pounds a day. Feeling like it's a bit exploitative to be honest. 🤨

The only way to get enough content is by having three tabs open even though they say a maximum of two. 😳

@RiverSkater I was on yesterday and wasn't amused at the whole, stick with us we're trying to fix it for the day. It's really quiet, even the shift (not that I'm on shifts but you can see the queue). I've been on it 2 years and never seen anything like this. I wonder if they've lost some customers as I notice LB. are looking to increase their moderation team.

I wonder if they're trying to get rid of people? I used to make a decent amount. This month I won't even make a quarter of what I usually do.

I'm not on the App project that everyone is talking about. It never even came up on my apply list.

Also, I'm obviously not fast enough to catch any prolific today. They're gone as soon as they appear!

Hi everyone, I've just been offered a Lionbridge project but I'm totally confused by the payment system. If you are in the UK is it better to opt for Paypal or bank account? I don't want to pay any fees if possible.

@seizethecuttlefish is it true that we don’t all see the same projects on Appen? Why is that?

@BecauseOfIndia mine goes straight into my bank acct. you fill out your timesheet as you go along and they confirm it the following month and pay the month after. No fees.

@AnotherOne4 yep. I never had the project come up. There's a few like that. Not sure if it's demographics or past work. I regularly get emails telling me to apply to projects that I can't see and when I've raised a ticket about it, I don't get a response.

Just done 3 hours on SD. I'm done in now. Will resume later for my next 3 hour stint! It is a very chilled project though and I am really enjoying it. Hope I'm not crap at it and just haven't found out yet!

I'm currently doing slow Potato and SD at the same time. It's not very taxing.

Lots of talk on here re: potato, I've recently been 'upgraded' to shifts but can't for the life of me ever get any of them. I've got notifications set up on the app but they've always gone within seconds of being posted. It's so frustrating :(

@Frenchdoors1, well done to you too. It hasn't been too bad this morning. Gone quite quickly. I'm having scrambled eggs, a quick shower and a walk. Will start again at 2 and get an hour in before kids home and then hope to go on until 5.

@BecauseOfIndia it might depend on your project but mine are SAP timesheets. I do need to figure out how to use my current details to look at other jobs on LB. The one I'm on is only a couple of hours a month and I don't want to be reentering a new email every time I see a decent role.

Work has slowed down on SD for me. It’s been steady for the last 4 hours but now I’m getting 1-2 jobs and now have the dreaded circle. Hope it picks up again, but just a heads up!

Haha that’s what I worry about. That I’m doing it all wrong. From what I can tell though, if I’m doing it wrong so are a lot of other people. Nearly the end of the month, so my invoice is looking pretty good (I think it’s a total one off though, and this bumper month will fizzle out)

@Frenchdoors1 it’s done for me, I can’t stand doing it when it’s drips and drabs as I find it too difficult to track my time. Transcription time instead! Maybe there will be more data later.

@swiftt That's where I messed up, stopping and starting but my stopwatch is great now, didn't use one before.
Hope you have another good run on it though.
