Passport certification/verification

Hi

I have bern asked to WhatsApp a copy of my passport to a financial place.

I really don't want to do this so I'm waiting to hear if the Post office service is acceptable to them.

Is this a norm now? Have others done it? I was caught up in the big WA hack before and it doesn't sit well with me at all.

For what purpose? Ds has had to show documents at virtual interviews.

It's for ID verification
It isn't a place with an office I can go to in person

They usually still need to see originals anyway. Can you meet at a coffee shop or library instead?

No, I think they are about 200 miles away.

Hopefully the PO certified service will do.

I've asked around my friends and it seems they've been asked as well. One has done it. I suppose a posted passport copy can be intercepted too but just unhappy about sending it via tech.
