I've been trying for weeks and can't get an advisor and don't have enough minutes to burn in their queue, plus the phone line went dead when I finally got to the front

Yes - at 8am. Got a decent service too.

Pre covid it was so easy to jump on a web chat, not so much these days. Either early or later on is your best bet.

Yes about 2 weeks ago about the £500 payment- mid afternoon it was answered in about 10 mins and very helpful.

I think it depends what section you are trying to get through to, SA and PAYE are very busy.

I'm trying to talk to the income tax people. Will try and set alarms to remind me for 8am and just before 8pm, frustrating that that's about toddler wake up and bedtime but I'll try. I check through the day without any luck at all.
