Balance transfer

So I currently have a barley card with about £1,000 spent from when we first moved house and went slightly over budget. Our circumstances changed last year and I didn’t manage to pay much off so now I’m paying interest and I’m barley making the monthly payments

Can anyone suggestion what the best thing to do is as I’ve heard about a balance transfer but I find it all really confusing.

Thanks

Look at money saving expert. You can put in your details and they can probably give an answer without a credit check. £1000 is nothing to these, but look for a long 0% period, and no transfer fee, which would be a %of the £1,000. If you pay back before the interest free period ends you will be fine. If you let it run after that it will cost you a lot as that’s how they make their money. The money may not move until you activate the card when you get it in the post.

The above is about balance transfer, if you can pay it off within the interest free period there is no cheaper way to get credit.
