Side Hustle Ideas

We are constantly finding ourselves a bit short at the end of the month. Most of our outgoings are pretty fixed so would love to increase our income. Does anyone have a good side hustle idea? It would need to be something I could work on while the kids are asleep. We are in Australia if that makes a difference. Not interested in MLM. Thanks :)

Babysitting? Do you have good enough knowledge in a subject/language to tutor? Can you do bank care assistant work in the evenings? I have a friend who did this but was UK.

I do freelance writing in my field as a side job but it took a while to get there and it is niche so probably wouldn't be a quick fix for you.

• Any good at photography and have a good camera? Sunrise, beach shots were available in every coastal tourist info place in Australia. Local, rural pics from inland places.

• Can you get overtime at work?

• Get a 2nd job, saturday job or night packer role? Ironing/cleaning/dog walking?

• Do you have a garden and enjoy gardening? Grow fruit/vegetable seedlings and sell locally

• Buy succulents or ferns cheap from markets/ wholesalers, buy nice pots and turn them into decorative gifts. I've also used large, glass vases, filled with soil and decorative rocks to make terreriums.

• Mount stag horns into logs or a decorative wall mount

• A carer or befriender to help elderly with shopping, cleaning, hospital appointments etc

• Fruit or veg picking in season?

• My cousin (in Aus) helps with elections. Its obvioulsy not a regular income at all, but just a few days work for each local/federal election

op you should take a look at the £10 per day thread here with all sorts of ideas on. A lot of the companies mentioned are international so you should be ok from Australia. If you take a look at Appen they have a range of projects and sometimes long running ones. I did a couple for them which lasted over a year and was making £200 to £300 a month from that. There are also lots of online English teaching websites. I am not sure with time zones but if you are free when it is Chinese evening you could probably make a lot teaching kids online.
I taught adults via Cambly for a while and enjoyed it as you only had to chat and didn't need to prepare anything really and you get $11 usd per hour for that. So not loads, but it does add up.
I have been doing a lot of low risk casino more lately which is very easy to dip in and out of and make a few hundred from that each month..But names.a.member of a group which I pay a bit for each month and they advise of what are the profitable offers as most would not be. I am not sure if there is something similar in Australia but the UK one is called Team Casino.
Good luck op, I was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago and putting a couple of hundred onto credit cards each month as I was overspending . I think this month I will finally pay off what remains on my credit card and I cannot wait!
