Has anyone had trouble uploading ID document photos onto the child trust fund app, and if so, how did you get around it?

Just as the title says.

What child trust fund app? Do you mean the app of whatever company your child’s trust fund is held with? Would be helpful to name the company so others with the same company can help you.

The app in order to get the money switched into a normal bank account at the end. RBS. It apparently would only accept JPG, and didn’t seem to accept any of the photos we tried to upload.

So it’s the RBS app? I don’t know anything about that I’m afraid. Hopefully someone will be along who can help.

Thanks anyway 🙂

Yes I had massive issues moving money from a Barclays Trust Fund (that had become a One Family Trust Fund) into a Barclays account in the same name.
They had to facilitate a portal to upload them to, and it was only available for a short window of opportunity. A complete pain to be honest - it was like I was the first person who had ever asked to move it over in the history of trust funds.

We will be coming to this point soon, can I ask how long it took between the child turning 18 and the money being moved into a bank account? I'm getting the impression it isn't a smooth process?

Hi, I sat with my 18yr old, he downloaded the 'Yoti' app on his phone, then he took a photo of his passport, scanned his face and we were done. Then we put the 'One Family' account on the laptop he scanned the QR code from that with his phone to authorise it and it was all done.
Very quick, relatively easy, cash in the bank within 5 days (hopefully - only did it on Thursday)🤞

I think we’ve managed it now - it was an iPhone app for her to register on but required photo ID as jpeg. Managed to do it all now by using my laptop, with the account that she’d set up on her phone.

Glad you've managed it
