Tax credit - anyone got a date for the £500 payment yet?

I see a lot of tax credit recipients will be getting a £500 lump sum rather than the £20 a week - but has anyone had it yet or had a date for it? I get a small amount of tax credits and can't figure out if I'm eligible for the £500

You can change bank account for it until i think the 8th so not before then

@perfectfacepaint I seen on Twitter that hmrc responded to a post saying from the 10th as the 8th is last date for bank account changes.

We get CTC, used to get a few quid WTC but don't now due to income.

But we didn't get any payments beginning of March as our payments have been reduced for a few months due to an overpayment. Should be back being paid again in a few weeks

I’m worried I won’t qualify either, as although I’m in receipt of WTC, that particular date I didn’t receive any due to an overpayment too....but was receiving them for them full tax year if you see what I mean?

I haven't heard anything yet. I'm assuming I will get it as I get WTC and have done for the past 4 years.

Had my text yesterday afternoon, I only recieve CTC as I earn "too much", hoping I qualify though 🤞 it would really help atm! Surely they wouldn't send out the message unless we did qualify? Does anyone know of anyone who isn't in receipt of any tax credits at all and had the message?

I'm fairly sure I qualify as I'm receiving both child and working tax credits.

I haven't had a text. I'm not worried as far as the alphabetically working through a list theory goes. The system could easily be working through NI numbers or maybe we all have a tax credits customer number.

Received the message today about the payment but as a PP has said it still doesn't say if you get it. Im guessing though getting the message means there's a good chance.

I also thought it was done by surname as my renewal always takes up til June to arrive but I am W so god knows how they do it

It has been confirmed that if you receive the text you will be getting the £500

Just got my text today! My surname is C. I've been on furlough since last March and not actually working the 16 hours but luckily they're still treating me as working the required hours for WTC. I'll be checking my online banking every day to see if it's been paid!

Surname is C, no text, but I don't think I've ever had a text from them before so I might be waiting for a letter..... Or not and no payment by 23 April.
Will update if I hear/receive anything.

I've had the text message twice! Although I remain unconvinced we will get the payment until I see it in my bank account. We claim CTC but WTC is reduced to zero because of household income.

My monthly payments are reducing by £120 from May according to my hmrc account (I'm unsure why?) so it won't really be much 'extra' if we do get it.
