Anyone care to make financial predictions for the next 2 years?

I read this thread this morning, and it has got me thinking. [DH and I are at a large financial crossroads[dont want to go into details of that here], but it would be helpful to know how the UK is going to be in the next two years].

I prefer to have some foresight rather than hindsight!

I tried to look up future predictions and trends but couldnt find anything much.
I dont really know what people use nowadays.

Financial Times I guess[but dont have a subscription]. The Economist? But is that now passe?

I did find a "futures" site, if that is the right word, but it was a US one which I thought was not really very relevant to the UK.
