About 5 years ago I got myself in to a mess with money. Mainly catalog dept which I couldn’t pay and ended up defaulting on.
Since then I got my shit together and have paid them all off in full and massive lesson learnt. A mistake never to be repeated.

Could anyone give advice please ? Is it the date of opened account or date of default ?

It will come off your credit file six years from the date the default was registered.

It's the date at which you stopped making payments.

ClaudiaWankleman · 25/02/2021 10:15

I think it is seven years though.

6 years from the date of default.

Apologies about the really crappy spelling. I have no excuse for all those typos. Thank you for replying to me.

I’m hoping the latest is 6 years from the date the default was registered. I’ve saved enough for a house deposit and obviously they are holding me back now. It’s my own stupid fault though.
