Selling books

Had anyone experience of selling books online to a website. And if so, what's best website to do it on. I was thinking through music magpie or Amazon but wondered did anyone have first hand experience.

I’ve used we buy books and Ziffit. Good experiences with both. We buy books collect the parcel from your home, Ziffit will only collect if the parcel weighs over a certain amount otherwise you need to take it to a collection point. Ziffit seem to pay up a bit quicker than WeBuyBooks but no real issues there. However, you don’t usually get much for each book and you have to have a minimum of £5 to make a trade so that often means a big box of books will only make you £5-8 or something. Still better than nothing though and I have found some books that get a couple of £ each. I always check music magpie too but they don’t seem to offer as much/won’t take the books I have so I’ve never completed a trade with them.

Depends what the books are. If paperback popular fiction, children’s books etc then honestly, they have really little resale value and you’re best donating to a charity shop.

I used Ziffit like previous poster and the actual service was great, I scanned all my books in and then their courier came and collected the next day, money in my bank account a couple of days later. I’d recommend them. Most of my books were non fiction and I think I made less than £2 per book on average - a very few they priced at £4-£5 but quite a few also under £1, and they wouldn’t even accept most of the fiction. It was a great way to get rid of books I no longer had the space for, though.
