In process of looking to swtich from avro energy and looking at various different deals and companies.
Have seen some cheaper rates from Eon and British Gas but when I google them they come back with terrible reviews. Just read a thread about Eon affecting your credit score. Not something I am worried about at the moment but just don't like that they have the ability to do that. Scottish power is another one but seems to get terrible reviews.

Had thought about Bulb or Octopus but prices seem more than we are paying right now.

I'm with Octopus and like them. When you submit meter readings you get up to date balance details pretty much immediately so you can see exactly how much you've used. You can change your monthly payment online to suit yourself.

If you do switch to octopus/bulb make sure you get a referral code as then you both get £50 off your bills once the switch goes ahead.

thanks will have another look at them.

Has anyone used Gotoenergy?

the cheapest that isn't a really tiny one - they are just ways for a couple of millenials to cream off some cash and then go bust. The big six plus a couple of others actually make the infrastructure, warm homes discount etc happen.

run a comparison and see what comes up. Remember that the official savings model is a lie unless you are on a standard tariff. Electric prices are rocketing so grab a fix.

Octopus have excellent customer service, as do bulb.

NoSquirrels · 17/02/2021 13:15

I like Bulb. Renewable energy, transparent pricing and an easy customer service interface, and all updated in real time. It's not the cheapest but the renewable aspect is important to me.

Octopus is fantastic! Our bills dropped quite a bit and with the monthly input of readings on the app it’s great.

inmylifeIlovedthemall · 19/02/2021 09:14

Bulb. Have been with them two years and think they are fantastic.

Thanks all for this, stayed with arvo as I renewed and they offered a really good deal on prices. Have been great over past few years but this, deal didnt appear on comparison sites.
