Nectar questions

Hi, we recently converted our Avios points to Nectar points and have 108,000 points/ £540 to spend. Wahey! BUT! Argos have a single transaction limit of £200 of nectar points, and we were looking to update our tv.
Does anyone know if you can buy Argos gift cards using your nectar points? How do you do it as we don’t live anywhere near a Sainsbury’s.
Thanks

Can you buy a Argos gift cards on the Argos site and pay for them using the Nectar points.
Or is there then also a restriction on using giftcards?

Chasingsquirrels · 17/02/2021 15:07

Limit of 3 gift cards when using online www.argos.co.uk/help/faq/72438

@Chasingsquirrels I tried to buy a gift card online yesterday, but there wasn’t an option to pay using nectar points. :(

Ah ☹.
Do you have to option to use Nectar points on physical online Argos purchases? I think you have to link your Argos & Nectar accounts.

Chasingsquirrels · 17/02/2021 18:53

I just checked and it isn't an option for me either, and I part paid for an online purchase in point a few weeks ago, so my account is linked.

How annoying for you.

doodlejump1980 · 17/02/2021 19:01

Yup, we’ve linked them, but can’t see a way around it, argos live chat was useless! Grr

Can't you go to a bigger Sainsbury's and buy a TV in there? Some still have electrical departments even though they now also own Argos.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2021 20:50

Ah, sorry, you don't live near a Sainsbury's. How far are you?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2021 20:53

Or, check out eBay: pages.ebay.co.uk/nectar-rewards/spend.html

You're limited to £200 per voucher, but it says you can spend multiple vouchers. Argos sell on eBay, so it's a workaround.

I know you want a new TV. But just in case you were unaware or had difficulty finding seats, your 67500 Avios (that you converted to 108000 Nectar points) could have got you a return flight to New York or Boston off-peak using up only 50000 Avios. or saving a little extra 70000 Avios for Cape Town or Barbados. You can switch back to Avios at anytime which is worth remembering. Finding flights can be tricky with BA's website, though availability now is better than pre-Covid, but there is a great website I use to find flights called rewardflightfinder.com/. For a fee of £3 per month you set up an alert & they check every hour to find you reward flights. I have personally found several flights using them.
