Child Maintenance Payments

My Husband has just received a letter regarding his 13 year old son, who he has no contact with. It’s from Child Maintenance Services. Stating they need to gather more information regarding his child’s recent address change. As there is no contact with child or the mother, my child partner wouldn’t know anything about this. He pays an amount agreed with the mother and has done for the last 10 years. Does this mean perhaps the child no longer lives with his mum? Will my partner be ok to not call them as he doesn’t have any information? Or is it best for him to call in case the agreement between them needs to change. I know he would love to know his son is ok despite the situation he’s found himself in.

Why on earth wouldn’t he call them?
If he can’t help, he can’t help - but it would be odd to just ignore the letter.

Did he never go to court to begin supervised access to get to know his son?

If cms have asked him to contact them, he should call.
