Platform Mortgages have you ever had a worse experience as an existing customer?

We are in the middle of a mortgage nightmare.

New customers of Platform are sailing through the process in four weeks, for us porting an existing mortgage (as excellent customers) they have been saying have said 12 weeks which was complete bulls*it.

Turns out it’s 12 weeks plus 2 weeks for offer paperwork etc. They have strung us along for 5 months and only revealed this when it’s too late to go elsewhere.

We’re devastated- does anyone know if we can get any recourse?

With the timeframes they have anyone who paid for their application after the start of December 2020 they took the money knowing exchange before the stamp duty window was impossible but they didn’t say. Even up until last week they were telling me it was possible to exchange in the deadline when ever solicitor in the chain is saying it’s not.

Money people - what can I do?

If you are in a chain that only started in Dec it’s very unlikely to happen by the stamp duty deadline. The main obstacle is the chain, not the mortgage provider. I can’t believe they would have given you any assurances on completion dates, most of the work does not even involve them.

Thanks for your reply, we started the application process in Oct - nov last year. They told us it would be.a 12 week application process while those going through brokers have been having their apply turned around in 4-5 weeks.

No it turns out that 12 weeks is only for the application it’s a further 2 weeks for the offer paperwork to come back. So stressful!
