HMRC help please

Hello.

I have just paid my self assessment payment to the wrong HMRC account! Will they find it and redirect it before I get a late payment penalty?

All other details are correct, my name, UTR number etc.

I’ve been on hold for over 30 minutes now trying to speak with them...

Which account did you pay it to?
Sort code 08-32-10, account number 12001039 with your UTR as ref will be fine.

That’s the account I should have paid it to, but instead I paid it in 12001020 although sort code is the same.

1039 or 1020 are fine. It'll get there!

Thank you all for your help. I have just got though to HMRC and he said it was fine too as it all goes to the same place but is divided up to spread the workload 😊.
