Hiya

Im going into my bank to apply for a loan on thursday so I checked my credit report - ive never 'lent' before...

and its

your credit score: 723 out of 1000
your credit rating: (3 star)

You have an average credit rating and will be in the target market for many lenders. As a result, you may receive a lot of junk mail promoting various credit facilities.

Which i think is OK but I was told to get catalouges to build up my credit rating as it was nonexsistant because ive never borrowed!

and on my report it says ...

credit applications and searches
In the last 12 months, you have had no searches on your file.

but ive allpied for 2 catalouges in that time and also made credit card applications (which were turned down)

but why when everything matches up??

Do you think I will be approved?

PS i thought i was getting turned down because of a mix up with the electoral role - but it matched me at this house so its not that.
Am i being unreasonable if they decline me on thursday to tell them I want to close my account and set up elsewhere??

As Ive been with them 6 years and apart from an overdraft they have never apporoved me for anything!

seems youve sent them to sleep

different lenders apply different criteria to their lending scoring. depends on how much its costing them to lend the money - some lend direct from shareholders interests/investments/savings etc - some lend from money borrowed from elsewhere and so costs them more than the interest paid to investors.
so no two companies will necessarily treat you the same with the same history. also - some of the less popular lenders are desperate to give you money - they may well charge more and add charges.
would expect your score be ok so long as you can prove you have the ability to repay without trouble regardless of any equity you may hold....snore....
