Pension sharing after divorce

HighTime33 · 26/11/2020 14:21

My divorce settlement includes a small portion of my husbands company pension and I have to transfer this to another scheme.
I have two different company pension schemes from previous jobs. To my mind it seems quite straightforward for me to put this new pension into one of my old schemes or even rollup or three into one of the schemes. This would save me the hassle of getting advice, starting a new pension scheme, etc.
Has anyone done anything similar or have any advice? Thanks

If you are no longer an active member of your previous company pensions it’s very unlikely they will accept a transfer in now (and not all occupational pension schemes will accept a transfer of benefits awarded following a divorce anyway). You will need to check with the administrators of your previous schemes whether this will be possible.

I had to set up a new pension as my current employer wouldn't allow external payments

Looks like that's what I'm going to have to do. Has anyone used Pensionbee?
