My and partner have recently split. We share a mortgage but I have enough savings to give ExDP what he has paid in. I will remove him from mortgage but can’t do that yet until I pay off more to pass affordability checks.
Question is he is moving out and looking to rent. On the application, will it go against him that he is technically financially viable for our joint mortgage still. I can just see loads of rejections coming on any nice popular houses he likes. Does he even have to disclose than info.
The reason I ask is that if he can’t move out and rent, he’ll end up living here for months or id have to sell up to get him off the mortgage so we can completely split.
