Tax Free Childcare question

Quick question on tax free childcare eligibility, can anyone advise?

My partner's (very generous) employer offers support with childcare as an employee benefit. I think this is worked out as a percentage of childcare costs, and is added to his salary each month. No idea how it's administered, but I do know that it is completely independent of any government-run scheme or incentive. His contract there is only temporary, so this isn't a benefit we'll receive for very long.

Does anyone know if this excludes us from also claiming tax free childcare? There was no question on employer contributions when I made the application, but I just want to double-check that I'm not inadvertently committing fraud!

I don't see why it would exclude you from TFC?

Can't see there'd be an issue- he will be being taxed on the amount given to him by his employer. The only criteria as far as I am aware are the ones you have to reconfirm every three months.
The only exception is if that extra pay takes him above £100k per year?

Ok phew, this was my understanding as well (that he is taxed on total income, so it wouldn't make a difference) - I just wanted to check I hadn't overlooked anything! Thank you Smile
