What does "Statutory Pay" mean?

On a payslip?

I'm supposed to be on SMP but "SMP" isn't stated on my payslip and I'm not sure what "Statutory Pay" is?

SMP stands for Statutory Maternity Pay. But there are other types of Statutory Pay - Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Statutory Adoption Pay and Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay. I imagine that all Statutory Pay is called this on your pay slip and they just don't specify the type.

@MiniMum97 Thank you so much. I thought it was - must be my SMP as I'm currently on mat leave.
However, bizarrely, there's also Holiday Pay on there? I'm a HLTA so not sure how it works because obviously I have to take holiday in school holidays, but this can't be right?

We don't use the pre-set SSP etc things on our payroll software because we top up and also at the moment it doesn't calculate SSP correctly due to the waiting days for Corona

So we just make our own headings called Holiday Pay, Sick Pay etc.

When you are off sick you have three "waiting days" before you are eligible to be paid Statutory Sick Pay. So you get sick pay for the 4th day of your illness.

But with Coronavirus related sickness only they have got rid of the waiting days so you get statutory sick pay from day 1.

You don't get holiday but you do get holiday pay - you will be paid more weeks per year than you actually work. As you are on Mat leave you still accrue holiday and still have to be paid it so that sounds right, its just being mentioned separately rather than included in your pay.
