I have just noticed i was charged on 2 separate occasions a direct debit fee of 28.50 in 2004. Can I claim these charges back? The bank is Nationwide.

you could write them a letter asking for it but you wont get it back just now, all the banks are going through a review in court. i think the long and short of it is that we have to wait months to hear the outcome, if the court decide that the charges are illegal we will be able to claim back but if the decide that the banks where within their rights we get nothing back. the banks wont do anything about it just now though.

please correct me if im wrong
