Loosing job while on maternity leave !

Hi
I’ve just had a call today to say the business I work for is handing out redundancy due to Covid . I’m currently on my third weeks of maternity leave . I don’t think I would get redundancy if selected as I haven’t been in the job two years yet (3rd January I would be)
The thing is I don’t know what will happen with my maternity pay if I’m let go ??
Will I have to apply to the government for SMP I’ve never lost a job before let alone when pregnant so I have no idea .
Any advice would be great x

You will still be entitled to statutory maternity allowance directly from the government.

If you have already qualified for maternity pay then you would continue to receive it even if made redundant.

And no you don't have to apply for anything else if you are already getting your maternity pay from your employer
