ESA Query

Hi,

I've applied for new style ESA. Still waiting to hear back. I've sent a sick note in. But I read that you can work less than sixteen hours a week on ESA. The job I'm on sick leave for is only 8 hours a week so can I still claim if I return to work?

I may be wrong but I think you would need to be assessed by ESA and then see if the work is allowed as 'permitted work'. I guess as long as it doesn't contradict the reasons you are saying you can't work in your work capability assessment, it should be ok.

@Babyroobs thanks for replying. That definitely makes sense. I've read it can take up to 13 weeks to be assessed and if I can't go back to work for that long, I doubt I'll have a job to go back too! Might have to rethink the ESA then.
