UC Childcare Proof

Can someone help me out with the guidance on this?

For the past three months I’ve been paying childcare weekly, submitting a letter from my childcare provider saying DS will be attending x, y and z date from w/c 1st July for N amount, and a receipt of my bank transfer.

I didn’t get my payment (with no note or anything) from last two weeks of Sept. I queried it - apparently they hadn’t assessed it (already stressful as I need the full month back to cover the following one). I was then asked for different proof as my proof isn’t sufficient.

I’ve queried this and they’re saying the letter doesn’t confirm specific dates. It’s a continuous service so I believe it does - specifically every Tues, Wed and Thurs each week from 1st July (and apparently every other advisor on the case has agreed).

So now I’m stuck. I’ve phoned the nursery - they are a very small business and can’t send me weekly letters so that won’t work plus I don’t want to cause them any hassle. The admin also said they have a few UC clients who have the same letter and don’t have any issue with this.

So what now? If you do use the UC childcare element what do you submit as proof?

Most screen shot their bank account to show the payment as it shows the company name/person date and amount then add it to their journal.

I do include the bank payment part and that’s fine, it’s the ‘invoice’ part from the nursery as it’s not sufficient apparently. The advisor I’m now talking to is saying I need ‘proof’ from the provider that my payment is for the actual dates, despite me sending the bank transfer print screen which shows ‘payment for 7-9 oct’ to childcare provider. I’m not really sure what they want but it’s bloody frustrating.

Following as I’ve just started a new application for UC and I will be using a CM.

I’m a childminder, one of my parents is Struggling with this. I don’t know what else to give them. UC asked The family for an invoice With dates, which I gave them. But then the invoice needed to say it had been paid And on which date, so I did that (to me, if that’s not an invoice, but a receipt, but who knows?).

Apparently it’s still not enough info, but there is nothing more I can put on as I have no more Relevant information.
No help to you, but you are not alone.

Reading on childcare sites it seems a lot of people have this issue, they always seem to require an receipt on headed paper from your care provider stating how much was paid, when and what this payment covered so a list of days and dates.

dontdisturbmenow · 19/10/2020 09:20

Do you pay for these days whether your child attends or not?

If you pay as per day attended, the issue might be that the letter states the days your child issue to attend rather than retrospectively stating the days he has attended.

I had a headed letter from my childminder. Stating hours for the month. At what rate and total cost. And paid at the bottom and the name of the child. I then sent a screen grab of my bank payment to this amount showing I had paid her. This was never questioned and i got paid each month.

Prufrocks · 19/10/2020 10:18

I used to screenshot the invoice which was sent monthly by the nursery and a screenshot of my bank transfer to the nursery. This was never an issue.
