Getting a tax refund on SMP

Good morning,
I ll be on SMP for the rest of the financial year now and have figured out for my income for the year that I will end up having overpaid my tax by about £300, has anyone ever been able to get a refund arranged with HMRC or is it the case that they won't incase you go back to work early?

With RTI it should smooth out and you will get back a little each month.

Should be automatic.

@RicStar as in they'd spread the rebate out once it's down to the £152 a week for a full month? that would be helpful if that's the case.

Yes the rebate comes as a little positive credit each month - its quite complicated but automatic.
