How much do I earn

freeingNora · 05/10/2020 15:58

If the full time salary for the year is 21680 and that's based on a 37.5 hour working week how much would I earn if I worked 17.5 hours ?

I've tried the salary calculator but I'd like to check my sums

Thanks

Yep, just what LadyCat said, £10,117.33.

killerofmen · 05/10/2020 16:03

I'm getting £10118 based on 4 decimal places which is what payroll dept uses.

Ooh good grief my sums are way off I'm glad I asked. Do I divide that by 12 now then to give monthly salary

Thank you all for working that out I've never worked part time or compressed hours before

Hi OP, I find the salary calculator really helpful, takes account of pro rata hours, student loan etc and you can break it down to weekly/monthly take home

Oops, ignore, just noticed you tried it already!

LadyCatStark · 05/10/2020 17:35

@freeingNora yes divide it by 12 for your monthly wage.

What you do is divide the total salary by 37.5 and times by 17.5 🙂

mamapants · 05/10/2020 17:35

£10177.33 a year. My workplace wouldn't round up.
Yes divide by 12 for monthly

Oh my goodness I got myself in a real mess with this stuff I'm used to this is your salary but all these parts are confusing it's a job share with someone who wants to just work 20 hours then they still receive a certain number of holidays and benefits etc below the 20 and you don't I'm not going to miss what I didn't have and I think it's easier to find child care for two days a week during holiday time then it is for a whole week but I could be wrong 😬

The holiday is 28 + bank holidays but I suspect because we split the Monday she only works two hours and I'll work 5 1/2 that the majority of bank holidays will be mine and every 4th one will be hers

Bank Holiday entitlement when you are part time can be an odd one, goodness knows my head was totally bamboozled trying to help someone on my team who was p/t work that out!
