waht happens if a self-employed person is on working tax credits and then gets sick?

Can they continue to claim whist they are ill?

Ring them and ask - is it a long term illness? I guess if the person isn't claiming incapacity benefit and it is just for a week or two it wouldn't make a difference - could it be put down to holiday rather than illness, just thinking it would save the hastle of changing circumstances with TC, I hate telling them anything different incase they cock it up.

When we ran the Hotel our hours were varied so they asked for an average over the year.

Think so (not 100% sure though, so check) because the person still would like to work but can't due to sickness (as per an employed person, I imagine). If it's a long term thing, could be eligible for incapacity benefit too.
