Monzo

I've opened a Monzo account to help me see where I'm spending, Santander wallet used to do the trick but they've got rid of the app for some bizarre reason!

I won't use monzo as my main account, do I just transfer money over and use the card? I'm presuming it's a debit card I'll receive and not a credit card? Will it show me a breakdown of food shopping and eating out? I suppose I just need to give it a try and see how it goes.

Yes that's what I do but you can have your wages/direct debits etc set up for that account like you would with any other bank. I think Monzo is great, especially the savings pots that you can create Smile

Monzo is good. They've however, introduced new fees for cash withdrawals and if you lose your card. So I'd read the fees list before jumping on board.

Thanks for that, I really think Santander have done themselves no favours by getting rid of the budgeting app, I like to be able to see my spending broken down into categories, that's when I know I need to reign things in!

Have you ever had issues with monzo, like the app being down?

@Monday55 will do. I won't be using it as my main bank so the cash withdrawal thing shouldn't be an issue. Just googling starling too, that looks kind of the same.

There's Monese too, don't think they have any charges for cash withdrawal.

I really like it, it has loads of alerts and notices. And you can break it down whatever way you like. Has been a bit of a revelation with seeing the daily 5-10 pound spends too.

@Babyshine2020 Thanks for that, I'm not on Facebook but will ask my friend to screen shot important things.
