Joint account without link

Currently DH and I do not have a joint bank account sure to my poor credit rating. We split rent/bills and for everything else such as food and days out we have an ongoing Monzo tab that we also split.

We went to start saving together and would love to do so through a joint account although we can't afford to lower DH's credit rating due to the financial link.

Is there any way we can get round this?

You could open an account in one name, and add the other person as a third party? The money would belong to the main account holder but you would both be able to access the funds, and it wouldn't create any financial associations.

Why do you need to start saving together? Just get your own savings accounts and combine the money when you want to buy whatever it is.
If it’s for a house both of you should have a LISA anyway so you can both benefit from the £1k per year bonus

Have you already saved the maximum into an ISA? If not, make sure you do that anyway before starting to save jointly.
