JSA

I've been in the fortunate position of never having to claim benefits. I was made redundant about 6 weeks ago and put in a JSA claim which was accepted and have received a couple of payments since.

I have just accepted another job which isn't due to start until October. I spoke to someone today who said they will shut down my claim.

Does this mean I will receive no further payments for JSA or they will pay something until the end of the month? I guess I'm no longer seeking a job so I don't need it but it doesn't start until October.

Also, I accepted the job on Monday but didn't confirm with them until today as I knew I had a call with them today so thought I would just tell them today but they didn't ask when I accepted the job. I just don't want to get into a situation where I have received money I'm not entitled to.

Thanks Daffodil

Just let them know when you start your job. Your JSA should continue until then.
