No longer eligible for tax free childcare

I got a message from gov.uk this morning as I was about to get my DD ready for her first day at a school nursery. It said that we were no longer eligible for tax-free childcare.
There was no reason given, just information on how to dispute the decision.

It makes no sense as we meet all the eligibility criteria and we've had the 30 hours free childcare approved.

I've had childcare vouchers before but I left that scheme when I applied for this one. It's baffling. Has anyone else had this or know why they've said this?

I get an email every so often asking me to re confirm all my details - have you had one of those and missed it by any chance? i know they do just cut you off so to speak if you dont do them.

I thought they stopped doing new childcare vouchers so if you opted out you won't be able to opt back in.

this is tax free childcare, a government scheme but its similar to the voucher scheme was.

Agree with PP sounds like you forgot to reconfirm. If you do that they will reinstate

SmallYappyTypeDog · 03/09/2020 12:33

As @TrustTheGeneGenie says you have to reconfirm your details every 3 months. When did you last apply/log in to your account?

nannynick · 03/09/2020 12:34

Has anything changed regarding income?
Will you have any childcare costs? School nursery I thought was not paid for via TFC. You may still need to reconfirm eligibility for 30 hours funding, has school nursery said you need to do that?

curlyrebel · 03/09/2020 23:14

It's not to do with reconfirming eligibility because I did that recently when the new school needed the codes.
No change in income.
I've stopped the childcare vouchers through my work. I think I'm going to try and call them if I can find a number.

Ok so I missed a message which asked me to prove that I left the childcare voucher scheme. I didn't realise I had to do that. I thought they would pick up on this without evidence.

Call them. The very first time I set the accounts up for my dds I received a message to say I didn't qualify. When I spoke to them they said this happens a lot and changed the info.
