If you are off sick for a day and a half, can your employer question you about your illness?

Will be having a meeting with manager this afternoon, so grateful for a quick response.

You do not need to tell your employer the nature of your illness.

Is there some legal site with this, that I can go to?

I don't know much more, it is just that I have been in the position of not wanting to tell my employer the nature of my illness and the HR department said I did not need to tell.

Your employer will usually ask the nature of your illness and many do a back to work interview, in case it's an ongoing problem, or you need some type of additional support.

No

you are under no obligation to say anything other than you are ill

Also dont forget that unless its for 3 days or more employers are undr no obligation to pay you, and only after 3 days does SSP kick in.

unless of course you have sick pay in your contract
